Let it Snow, Let it Snow...

... Let it Snow!

*Allow me to introduce Meep's old friend Mr. Iceman. He showed up unannounced Friday afternoon for a visit. Meep was most excited to see her friend again and they spent the better part of the afternoon giggling together.*

(I was secretly relieved to see that, while he did roll in with an entourage, there was no luggage in tow; indicating a short stay.)

MmmHmmmm ... that's right, it is snowing ... in March!
Yeah, I was freaking out at first but once I realized I didn't have to drive anywhere all was good again. Big huge fluffy flakes swirled down to the ground ... it was beautiful! Just writing about it makes me wanna put on a pot of 'tato soup! mmmm soup

(Fine, I will admit it! I don't hate snow as much as I say I do but don'chu go tellin' anyone I said that k)

The weather-people (look ma! i'm P.C.) have reported that we will have more snow over the next few days but nothing yet.

I'll keep you posted... heh >:}~

Playing catch up Part 2

So many things have happened during my 2 week blog break where o' where do I begin?

I am sitting here ... staring at my computer screen ... drawing a blank.
(Have you ever had so much going on that you have no idea what is going on? That's me, right now.)

The 2 week blur went something like this -->

Knitting, writing papers, shuffling kids to/from skool, knit night, picking Wrex up from the airport, and sleeping.... laundry/dishes/homework, meeting up with friends, studying, sitting in M-Lab for 40 hours, banging head on desk, sending Wrex off for another business trip, keeping kids entertained, writing Honors application essay, stalking my cat, meeting Hector's new suitor, watching movies, picking up letters of recommendation from professors, ditching knit night to study, picking up Wrex from the airport, saying farewell to barista-pals and finals... being Thrift-napped & Lunched by Snuffywump, Easter shopping, Easter, Spring Break, Meetings at the kids sKooL, sinking into the TV, resolving issue with cell phone company, shopping car insurance, tearing apart my house for spring cleaning, registering for Honors classes ....

....
and breathe.

Playing Catch up Part 1

Ahh ... Easter

Nuttin' says Jesus more than hollow soulless chocolate rabbits, and eggs fashioned up in colors that would make a chicken want a check-up.

(I will spare everyone the Eoster & fertility rant and Just jump right into my story)

Last Easter we made our way down to the Local Egg hunt in the park ... I never realized the power that little foil wrapped eggs have over children ... it can turn them into crazy wild eyed beasts!!! My kiddos never had a chance with the pushing and grabbing and downright nastiness of the other kids ... their parents screaming their battle cries "JOHNNY!! OVER THERE GET THAT ONE BEFORE THE KID WITH GLASSES GETS IT!!! RUN JOHNNY!!!" ...*sigh* ... This year I swore to make it different, better ... that's right folks I vowed we would be the first family at the park this time around!... My kids were going to have a nice time hunting eggs without being knocked to the ground this year ... I woke the kids up at 6:am to ensure we would all be ready for that 1:30pm start time ... oh, we would be ready this year for sure! ... It is rare my kids get candy but this year, this year I was prepared & revenge would be ours!! ... I pumped the kids full of Easter Peeps and chocolate rabbits and I even double knotted their shoelaces ... Oh yeah, it was ON!

then ...

... it rained.

It didn't just rain ... it rained the rain of a thousand weeping gawds ... like the sky opened up to mock me and my Easter revenge. WHY!?!?!?! What had I done to anger the clouds?!?

As my kids sat there all sugared up and shaking with their little chocolaty faces pressed against the window it dawned on me that karma had taken the last laugh ... the wild pack of egg wranglers were also stuck to their windows cursing the rain far away from the feeding frenzy of the park ... and I was now stuck inside the house with 3 sugar-fueled children as a reminder to never attempt an act of revenge on a holiday. *sigh* ... Karma, You're a bitch.

What's cuter than cute?

Babu Hats!!

Such a quick and satisfying knit .... Bunny Hop yarn is super stretchy & fun to work with ... Now I just have to find more babuies to make hats for!

The teeny hats are for my Meep's litter of stuffed critters ... in case you are wondering Meep is the tiniest of our ankle biters ... she was simply pickled tink when she realized hats could be knit that small. >:}~

How to Avoid Blogging

1. Have Children.

2. Enroll yourself in the hardest classes you can find.

3. Devote a lot of your attention to cute yarny projects.

4. Read every post in your Ravelry groups.

5. Stare blankly into the sun.

6. Study so hard for finals that you wake up at 4:45am with a pen stuck to your face ... 6 nights in a row.

7. Stare blankly into your cats face.

8. Become sleep deprived enough to beg your cat to bring you coffee.

9. Spend the rest of the day trying to coax your cat out from under the couch.

10. Spend a day celebrating because you - Pass your finals with flying colors!!!!!!!!

Oh yes! Yes! Yes! That's right, unnhhhhnnn shakka shakka, I made it through finals once again!

*sigh*

How to Avoid Writing a Paper

I swear I started my paper!! ... I really want to finish my paper ... but ... I got the cutest baby yarn today. I couldn't just let it sit there all balled up in a yarny- fetal state now could I? I had to pick it up & cuddle it ... I just had to!

Don't you judge me.

I promise to work on my paper the moment I birth this cute little baby hat. I swear.

What kind of knitter would I be if I left this baby yarn unattended anyway?!?!

So hush.

It Happened ... I finally gave in & moved myself into the blogging world. *sigh*

(Here is where I feel I must confess to you dear reader that not only am I entirely too nervous to be witty or entertaining at the moment but that I am now going to 'out' myself as often being devoid of proper English skills when trying to"thought- vomit". It is an unfortunate situation I know but alas I write so many papers for school that I have learned to let it all blather out and then edit which means that I really don't foresee much editing as I blog along because if I edit here I will never get my thoughts out which would quite simply defeat the purpose of my having a blog at all- HA! So - if you find yourself squeamish over the sight of butchered grammatical structures or winded after a marathon of run on sentences then I do apologize in advance & will try my hardest to distract you with pretty pictures)

Moving right along ...

I'm Here! I'm here! I am so excited to finally have a place to unpack my thoughts!

Gee, where do I start?

Ummm ... obligatory profil-y spew?
I am a yarn obsessed blue- haired punk rock momma. Last year I went back to school and after a wee period of adjustment I Love, Love, Love it! I knit, make puppets, cook, play gawd with claymation creations ... horror movies, tattoos, rocky road ice cream ... blah, blah, blah

*sigh* you know what? Let's just let this part unfold naturally over time.

OK, How about a Random Oddity?
So I was watching TV tonight & I spotted what I thought was an actual 'Who' as in a - Horton heard one kind of 'Who'!!! Fox news ran a story of a man from India who has grown his ear hair "tufts" to an enormous length!! I swear he looked just like a 'Who' from who-ville!! ... I found this incredibly amusing considering the soon to be released movie. Who in the heck dug this story up?!? I would love to thank them for the chuckle! (The only thing that would have made it funnier is if the news segment had been followed by the new ad for IHOP's Horton hears a who pancakes!!) TV just makes me laugh.

I know!! I know!! I've got it!!
I know exactly how to start this blog!! ...

Welcome! Thanks for taking a moment to read my blog.

Stay Tuned for - Yarny -goodness!
